According to the latest game industry salary survey, the average annual salary of a game developer is $73,000. Game programmers tend to earn the most, averaging between $57,913 and $119,142. Artists and animators earn between $42,672 and $99,136, and game designers average between $44,342 and $88,575.

In this industry, experience counts. Game developers with five years of experience or more can earn twice as much as entry-level developers.
